Early demo for tinkerers.One fictional sponsor. No paying advertisers yet, so no earnings or payouts.

TRY THE DEMO

See it work
in five minutes.

For now, MCPX runs on your own computer. You need Node.js 22 or newer and the MCPX project files. Test it in your terminal first, then connect an assistant that supports local MCP tools.

Runs locally · No account

1 Start the demo

In the MCPX project folder, run:

npm ci
npm run build
npm run dev

Keep this terminal open. The demo site runs at localhost:4173.

2 Get a sample sponsor

Open a second terminal in the same folder. This turns on sponsored content for the test and asks for the sample:

MCPX_SPONSORED_OPT_IN=true npm run demo

macOS and Linux. PowerShell: $env:MCPX_SPONSORED_OPT_IN="true"; npm run demo

3 Connect your assistant

Run npm run config --silent to print your MCP settings. Add the mcpx entry to your assistant’s MCP server settings and reconnect. These settings turn sponsored content on.

Example MCP settings
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mcpx": {
      "command": "/absolute/path/to/node",
      "args": ["/absolute/path/to/mcpx/build/server/index.js"],
      "env": { "MCPX_SPONSORED_OPT_IN": "true" }
    }
  }
}

The format depends on your assistant, which must support local (stdio) MCP servers. Keep your other server entries.

Then ask: Use MCPX to show me a demo productivity sponsor.

To turn it off, remove the entry or set the value to false, then restart the MCP connection.
